Area Sales Representatives
Job Objectives
Area Sales Representatives is an integral part of our team and have first hand knowledge as the front-line sales team. They provide irreplaceable value in recognizing opportunities for JM Eagle's continued growth. To streamline and coordinate our efforts in maintaining our sales growth, a summary of key function and responsibility:
1. Spec work for all responsible products, with a focus on engineered products.
2. Growth business with our direct customers to achieve sales targets.
3. Provide market information/feedback; work with inside sales and management.
4. Coordinate and promote strategic company programs, i.e., 50-year warranty, new Corr. PE. line.
Further details of specific tasks as follows:
- Research and identify all top Engineers (decision makers) and contractors in assigned market.
- Explore and identify all projects in pre-design phase, design phase and bid phase.
- Prior to bid phase initiate and identify if spec may be changed through educating and influencing cities, municipalities, counties and authority's specification to allow PVC and HDPE to be utilized.
- Initiate and conduct visits to at least one engineer and two contractors weekly while maintaining accurate written reports to be submitted to HQ weekly.
- Identify and call on distributors daily while providing first hand market intelligence to inside sales and management.
- Follow up on project status daily in anticipation of pre and post project bid dates.
- Initiate visits to construction project sites providing training and identifying abnormalities.
- Visit job site and call on installers periodically measuring product quality assurance in preventing potential issues from occurring in the future. Documenting quality by taking photos for future reference.
- Conduct visits with project owner, contractors and distributors upon completion of project to offer our appreciation and congratulations for a well-developed collaboration of efforts.
- Perform monitoring functions on all customers in his/her geographical area.
- Monitor and maintain competitive market pricing within their designated territory industry to avoid unnecessary price-cutting.
- Consistently review and evaluate actual Area Sales Report in comparison to sales targets with management, work closely with inside sales, to achieve assigned sales target for the region.
- Actively initiates action plans addressing accounts that are not meeting monthly sales targets.
- Immediately initiate corrective actions if notified of product abnormalities within existing accounts in their territory.
- Engage and develop new business and make recommendation for management and participate in the following events: customer's events, local/regional tradeshows, product training, and customer branch presentation.
- Submit weekly reports by utilizing the standardized forms provided with details of accomplishments, pictures from site visit, inventory on distributor's yard, abnormalities and any other information that would be valuable to inside sales and management team in facilitating and driving sales.
- Initiate conversations with customers regarding competitor programs to further evaluate and improve our marketing strategy during visits.
