SUMMARY

Assist the Corporate and global Human Resources team with day-to-day administration.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·       Provide daily business support to the HR staff on health & welfare and defined contribution plans including researching, responding and resolving employee issues.

·       Work with third party vendors to administer benefit programs and improve processes.

·       Partner with IT and Payroll to address corrections.

·       Work with vendors and carriers to gather data and conduct primary research for health & welfare plans and projects.

·       Coordinate the open enrollment process.

·       Prepare and process wires/billing payments and monthly budget reports.

·       Ensure the company's benefit programs are ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and FMLA compliant.

·       Support the benefits team through ad hoc projects, data collection, reporting and analysis.

·       Assist with new hire orientation as needed.

·       Advise employees/former employees on eligibility, program parameters and escalated claims issues.

·       Audit employee data against benefits payments.

·       Develop communications to be sent out to employees, retirees and former employees.

·       Create benefit files and maintain accurate records. 

·       Enroll, update, and/or terminate employee benefit(s) in payroll and respective carrier portals.

·       Notify employees of their rights under COBRA, monitor receipt of COBRA payments, and ensure relevant notification(s) are provided to COBRA qualified beneficiaries.

·       Input data for new employees and, update changes (i.e., name, address, QMSCOs, etc.) for current employees.

·       Run regularly scheduled reports and customized reports as needed.

·       Processes claims and related forms for statutory benefits (STD/LTD, FMLA, death benefits, and WC) under the supervision of senior HR staff.

·       Back up support for the processing new hires, employee status changes, terminations and associated employee processes.

·       Respond to general departmental telephone and mailed/faxed inquiries and route the same as needed.

·       Receive, date stamp, and distribute/route departmental mail.

·       Travel to other plants and/or facilities as required.

·       Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Human Resources, Management, Business or Psychology or equivalent from four-year college; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook). Internet/Intranet experience. HRIS system experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
