Plant Manager
CO - Pueblo
Opportunity Overview
If you can effectively direct process and people management in a plastic manufacturing environment, consider this hands-on leadership opportunity at the world's largest manufacturer of plastic pipe that's poised for big growth with a diverse, recession-resilient product portfolio. . .
The company collectively known as JM Eagle was recently formed through the merger of JM Manufacturing and PW Eagle; this union represents the "best of the best" of two industry leaders and we're uniquely positioned to offer our customers the greatest breadth of product, the broadest geographic reach, the most cost effective production operations, the highest capacity, and the most comprehensive field sales support team in the industry.
As Plant Manager, your twofold mission is to: (1) assess the production team and build the skills of your existing staff (average plant size of about 85), and (2) introduce your ideas for innovation and improvement into our systems and processes to enhance our performance indicators including output yield, scrap rate, safety, quality, and on-time shipping and fill rates. To be a good fit for this position, you'll bring a progressive track record of success and galvanize the team to meet or exceed our production targets; far from adopting a heavy-handed approach, you'll showcase the utmost tact and diplomacy in all your interactions and gently guide the team to achieve their own best potential.

- 7+ years of related production experience with at least three 3 years in plastic pipe or extruding process manufacturing environment.

- Impeccable communication skills to interface with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to integrate customer needs and functional unit objectives to achieve business unit objectives.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment; familiarity with AS-400 systems is a plus.
- Ability to travel, about 10-15% of the time.
What's in It for You
You'll find that our best-in-class environment is replete with a variety of rewards including:
- Ability to make an impact -- by identifying and implementing improvements, you'll play an important role in taking our operations to the next level while "making your mark" on our growing organization.
- Broad visibility -- with a footprint of 25 manufacturing plants throughout the country, you'll regularly interact with the other Plant Managers as you share resources and best practices.
- Career development -- we're expanding our product line and as you help us grow and produce quality products, you'll pave the way for your own career growth and be ideally positioned to pursue a variety of career paths within our dynamic organization.
- Empowerment -- you'll be "king of the castle" at our Pueblo facility and as long as you are achieving your goals, we'll entrust you with the freedom and flexibility to drive your own processes and achieve success; you'll have plenty of support when you need it and "elbow room" when you don't.
- Great environment -- our culture combines the best of American and Taiwanese business practices where we value the stability of structure and encourage a methodical approach to measured change and incremental improvements.
- Community Responsibility & Outreach -- we're committed to our core value of delivering life's essentials through the most eco-friendly plastic pipe products on the market. Our President is extremely passionate about improving the quality of drinking water and we remain active in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and other humanitarian activities in the US and around the world.
- Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and performance incentives, we offer a rich benefits package that includes medical, hospitalization, prescription, pension, and a 401(k) matching savings plan that's paid for in full by the company. Tuition reimbursement for professional growth is offered and encouraged.
