We're looking for Mechanical Engineers who will provide design and support to engineering projects for expansion and improvements across a wide variety of areas, including, but not limit to, utility (air & water) piping design and drafting, plant equipment layout design and drafting; monitor and assist contractors in piping and equipment installation. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering and have experience in a manufacturing environment.

You may travel in this role to the various plants across the country, although we don't expect you will travel more than 15% of the time.

More About Your Role
Reporting to a Project Manager, you will join an Engineering team of 10 to 15 that will include the Director of Engineering, about three Mechanical Engineers, three or four Electrical Engineers, and others. At any given time you can expect to be involved with multiple projects of varying size and scope. While you will have individual deliverables, we foster a strong teamwork environment. We support the 25 plants by purchasing and integrating equipment.
Within the past year J-M Manufacturing, the largest manufacturer of plastic pipes, acquired PW Eagle, the second largest, in June 2007, doubling almost overnight. We're integrating both into what is now the clear market leader, JM Eagle. As part of the integration we are ensuring that ALL our facilities are state of the art. In either of these roles you'll use MicroStation to support a variety of projects, from improvements to brand new facilities.
You will design utilities for the plants, including pneumatic conveying systems, utility systems, plastics compounding systems, water piping, and more.
We're also making a significant investment in order to enter the PE corrugated pipe market, a market we expect will continue to grow significantly. You may contribute to this initiative, which will involve launching entirely new production lines in multiple factories, with equipment slated for delivery in the very near future.
