SUMMARY
Supervise the repairing and maintaining of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems by performing the following duties.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
 
Supervision
Must supervise up to 15 employees and assign and prioritize daily tasks while insuring that JMM and PMC company policies/guidelines, NEC, NFPA, BCD, DEQ, EPA and OSHA regulations are adhered to and enforced. The employee will give clear and precise instruction to assure employees have a clear understanding of their job duties and expectations including submitting timely required written reports and completion forms in regards to Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work, Confined Space, Work Orders, etc.
 

Safety Expectations

Teach and promote safe work habits of plant personnel and enforce safety regulations as presented in the company Safety Policy. The employee shall prohibit his/her personnel from performing work beyond their qualifications. The employee shall prohibit his/her personnel from performing work without the proper/required tools or equipment. The employee shall prohibit and provide disciplinary action to any employee for violating any company or regulatory agency rule/regulation.

Plant Policies

Follow and enforce all plant polices, and where appropriate, assist management in the development of new policies and procedures.
 
Availability
Will maintain contact and be available for emergency communications at all times with the facility.
Supervisor should ensure that He/She is reachable at all times and keep production aware of communication methods necessary both primary and secondary methods of contact.
 

Facilities and Equipment

               
Coordinate and monitor the operation, maintenance, condition, and reliability of infrastructure including buildings,
workspace, associated utilities, process equipment and related resources to achieve quality objectives and conform to
all product requirements.
 

Inventory

Ensure that adequate inventory stock levels are maintained necessary for optimum equipment performance. Ensure that units/parts that are removed from service are repaired or rebuilt in a timely manner.
 

Housekeeping Responsibilities

Ensure that workers in his/her department maintain their designated work spaces in a clean and safe manner.  Ensure that maintenance personnel are cleaning the areas where they perform maintenance activities and are properly returning company tools to the designated places for such tools.  Ensure that workers are returning unused parts and/or supplies to the designated places for such and that any parts which are deemed permanently defective are disposed of in a proper manner.  Ensure that any parts that are repairable or have the ability to be rebuilt are tagged as such and placed in a designated area and that materials for such rebuild are acquired and used to rebuild part in as timely a manner as possible.
 

Work Scheduling

Are Responsible for the scheduling of maintenance personnel to provide for adequate coverage of the facility and equipment. Maintain control of overtime for the department.
 

Maintenance Planning

Able to plan job activity such as preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, emergency repair, project work, corrective maintenance, and overhaul of defective or worn equipment by use of a computerized maintenance management system. The CMMS will be utilized to plan such activities and to record past histories of work that has been done in the form of equipment histories. The CMMS will be used as a tool for prioritizing work to be done, scheduling and as a means for reporting time expended and work accomplished as well as spare parts usage. 
 

Work Quality

Inspect and ensure the quality and completeness of all maintenance work performed by department personnel. The employee will provide timely work order responses to upper management and the Safety Committee.  
 

Production

Provide support to all production activity, as appropriate.  Activities include root cause analysis, response to repeating problems affecting plant performance.
 

Health, Safety and Environmental

Maintain plant systems to insure NAP/BV’s compliance with applicable EPA laws and regulations. Must be aware of MSDS and Hazmat rules. The employee will provide required and documented training in Hot Work, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, and Electrical to his/her personnel.
 

Plant Systems

Maintain a knowledge of essential plant systems, including electrical, compressed air, vacuum, chilled water, reuse water, blending, and grinding, in order to support and improve plant operations.  "Systems" also includes an understanding of how the systems interrelate with production processes.
 
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Vocational/Technical certificate or A.A Degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, to collect all data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and the employee will use proper hearing protection. The employee is not to expose themselves to moving mechanical parts, or to the risk of electrical shock unless qualified.
