Electrical Engineer

SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineer in this position will help define what production equipment, tools, systems, and materials will be required in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. The engineer will assist in overseeing much of the systems and electrical installation and work on process improvement and production optimization using lean processes and tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes on factory floor.
- Electrical system checkout including functional testing and troubleshooting of all electrical systems.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- May assist engineering in creating new or updated schematics or assembly prints.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

This position does not have anyone reporting to them.

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Internet/Intranet experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups (employees and management).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
