Management Trainee - Finance
CA - Los Angeles
SUMMARY
Gain knowledge and experience required to qualify for management positions within the organization under direction of first-line supervisors to top executives. This position requires the ability to communicate professionally with both internal and external personnel focusing on projects and tasks assigned by the VP Finance, Corporate Controller or Assistant Director of Credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Payroll and Facilities Management: 30%
- Economic incentives – tracking, analyses, preparing data submissions, etc.
- Lease “deal” analyses
- Analyses for bank business plan updates
- Monthly VIP Rebate accrual and analysis
- Tracking economic Indicators
- Cost analyses
- Payroll reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations – payroll account
Accounting: 30%
- Fixed Assets, including Fixed Assets & Depreciation Schedules for all plants, C.I.P. Projects, Fixed Assets' additions, disposals & transfers
- Monthly Depreciation Analysis for the management
- Annual Real & Personal Property Statement filings for all J-M's plants
- Property tax analysis & payment requests
- Reconciliation of Property & Depreciation Schedules to the G/L
Credit and Collections: 30%
- Create Risk Scoring Model for setting automatic Credit Limits
- Measure and Monitor Scoring Model on periodic basis
- Report risk flags to management
- Review and revise Credit Policies and Procedures
- Prepare periodic financial analysis on Publicly Traded Customers
- Assist in new automation projects
Corporate Training and others: 10%
- Cross training by all JM Eagle Departments
- Other assignments

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Accounting.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), internet/Intranet experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Abilities to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
