  1. POSITION OBJECTIVE:
 
To oversee the installation, repair and maintenance of production equipment, buildings and facilities.
 
  1. QUALIFICATIONS
 
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Electrical and mechanical experience, complete capability to read and produce drawings, knowledge of electrical codes and use shop math.
  3. Ability to correctly and safely use the appropriate hand tools, electrical metering devices and power tools required in the performance of assigned work.
  4. Ability to use computers and office equipment as required.
  5. 5+ years experience in maintenance repairs.
 
  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Tasks and duties:
 
  1. Works under the direction of the Plant Manager in staffing, planning, scheduling, training and supervising, manage machines and materials in the department in order to secure the maximum efficiency of all plant equipment.
  2. Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees.
  3. Plans and schedules work in cooperation with production personnel to affect minimum interference with production.
  4. Determines spare parts and maintains inventories as required and initiates orders for same.
  1. Implements installation of new equipment and facilities per A/R’s.
  2. Cooperates with other departments to implement company programs such as cost education, fire prevention, housekeeping, safety, energy conservation, environmental controls, etc.
  3. Advises plant engineer of maintenance problems and recommends action.
  4. Provides accurate reports for labor usage and usage of maintenance repair materials.
  5. Supervises and schedules necessary repairs to equipment, building and facilities including replacement or rebuilding of parts.
  6. Plan and implements a preventive maintenance program for assigned areas.
  7. Reviews progress and completion of work performed by subordinates in the department.
  8. Makes complex wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and sketches.
  9. Reads and makes proper electrical installation from blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  10. Possess general knowledge of plant electrical distribution system and power requirements.
  11. Works with crews to do work on production machines when required.
  12. Teaches, advocates and uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
  13. Instructs and follows up the activities of inexperienced employees.
  14. Fills out records as required.
  15. Maintain maintenance shop to THM standards.
  16. Insure work compliance with all company safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
  17. Insure work compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines governing safety.
  18. Insure work compliance with all company environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
  19. Insure work compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory policies, procedures,         and guidelines governing environmental compliance.
  20. Performs other related duties as required.
 
Work Environment:
 
  1. Indoor and outdoor environments apply.
  2. Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32?F for periods of more than one hour.
  3. Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100?F for periods of more than one hour.
  4. Subject to noise of sufficient loudness to require the employee to shout to be heard.
  5. Subject to vibrations of sufficient strength to produce fluctuating movements of the body.
  6. Subject to typical workplace hazards including, but not limited to, hot and/or moving parts on machinery and equipment, oils, chemicals, cutting fluids, lubricants, gases, explosive mixtures, dermatological irritants, pressurized air, water, and hydraulic systems, electricity, hot materials, heavy object, and falling debris.
  7. Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, and dusts.
 
Physical and Visual Activity Requirements:
 
  1. Sufficient sight, hearing, and use of limbs to be able to safely operate powered vehicles such as forklifts, sweepers, cars and pickups.
  2. Sufficient sight to be able to distinguish warning and operational indicators, and to determine accuracy and neatness of required job assignments.
  3. Sufficient sight and use of limbs to be able to perform clerical duties as assigned.
  4. Sufficient sight to be able to read and understand all posted and written communications.
  5. Sufficient sight to be able to accurately differentiate colors and perceive depth.
  6. Sufficient hearing to be able to determine the difference between warning alarm indicators and standard operational indicators.
  7. Sufficient flexibility and agility to be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach as required in the performance of their job duties.
  8. Sufficient sense of balance to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, or climbing.
  9. The ability to climb a 50foot ladder and to negotiate stairways, ramps and scaffolding.
  10. The ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  11. Sufficient dexterity of the hands and fingers and be able to determine the size, shape, temperature and texture of individual objects.
  12. Sufficient feeling in the hands and fingers to be able to determine the size, shape, temperature, and texture of individual objects.
  13. The ability to lift 70 pounds and carry it 30 feet.
  14. The ability to push and pull 2,500 pounds 30 feet with the aid of material handling equipment or a portable pallet jack.
  15. The ability to verbally communicate to coworkers all information necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.
