SUMMARY

Design, purchasing, development and improve the production processes and equipment through the Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma concepts.  Manage the expansion and capital investment projects. 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  1. Facilitate the major equipment vendors in Taiwan and China for expansion projects:
    1. Communicate with the vendors in Taiwan and China for collecting the production process specifications.
    2. Help to conduct the process testing for designing the production equipment.
    3. Working with vendors’ engineers from Taiwan and China to facilitate their equipment installations and testing.
    4. Working with equipment vendors in Taiwan and China for the continuous improvement projects in the production processes.
 
  1. Develop new product and new processes.
    1. Handle project management of the new product developments.
    2. Coordinate the new product survey to help making decision on the new product direction and models.
    3. Develop the new door model through the CAD drawing design.
    4. Work with plant and mold manufacturer to test the molds.
    5. Perform the new material trial and test for new product developing.
    6. Conduct the new mold purchasing and manage the suppliers’ project schedules.
    7. Coordinate the required tests and certifications to get the new products ready for sales. 
 
  1. Improvement Function:
    1. Manufacturing Process Improvements.
    2. Cost Down Improvements.
    3. Manufacturing Cost Analysis and Improvement.
    4. Develop new material to reduce the cost or improve the manufacturing processes.
 
  1. Quality Improvement through new product design/process improvements.
    1. Perform the quality problem study.
    2. Coordinate the tests to improve or certify the products.
    3. Develop new manufacturing processes, new material, or new structure to improve the quality.
    4. Help QC system implementation.
 
  1. Expansion and other major projects management.
    1. Plant Layout design.
    2. New equipment layout.
    3. Capital investment projects project Review and analysis.
    4. Propose new capital investment projects.
 
  1. Equipment Design/Purchasing and Major Modifications.
    1. Design and development of production equipment.
    2. Create budgets for new equipment and modifications.
    3. Supplier survey.
    4. Get Quotations and price comparisons. 
    5. Issue P.R. and P.O.
    6. Follow up project progresses.
    7. Test Run arrangement.
    8. Transit the new equipment from Start-up to regular production.
 

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMNET:  Bilingual fluency in Mandarin Chinese and business English.  

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:  Min. three years experience. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise the engineering related personnel and projects including HQ and plants.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

B.S. in Mechanical
 

COMPUTER SKILLS

AUTOCAD, Microsoft Office and Project.
 

COMMUNCATION SKILLS

Able to read and interpret design drawings and documents (such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals).  Able to write technical reports, analyze data, identify trends and develop action plans to address issues.
 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Abilities to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
