SUMMARY
 
The Benefits Manager supervises the administration and coordination of the human resources function in a variety of functional areas including compliance, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, workers’ compensation, and employee absence (FMLA, STD / LTD) to ensure goals and objectives are met. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
   

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may supervise designated Human Resources Coordinator(s) at the headquarters location.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in the Human Resources field, including a minimum of 3 years of benefits management experience.  A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), internet/Intranet experience. HRIS experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups (including employees and vendors).

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as production rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to work with measurements. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to use broad judgment in the day to day supervision of designated staff

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
