SUMMARY
The Cost Accountant gathers data and studies the costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor, and documents results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collect data to determine cost of business activity.
Review actual manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Conduct inventory error analysis.
Support monthly close process.
Generates labor cost and shipments reports for management review.
Manages standard cost system.
Conducts product line analysis for management review.
Attend and participate in company and department meetings.
Perform other special projects assigned by Controller.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field and at least two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
